Negative v Netherlands
27 Jun 2014 by John Cordingley
Saturday saw us fall to our 2nd successive defeat in the league to see us slip to 3rd in the league.
We batted first and made steady progress with Ammer scoring 54, George 30 and John 38. With a few contributions from others limping us to a total of 173 all out in the last over.
We knew this was probably 30 or 40 runs light but if we bowled well we could have been in with a shout.
It started well with Kammy removing the opener to leave them 1 for 1. That as it turned out was as good as it got as the Netherfield batsmen took the game to us punishing our bowlers at every opportunity.
We managed to take 2 more wickets but Netherfield catered to victory to leave us very frustrated.
In all honesty we can look back at batters getting set to make a big one and failing to kick on to make a match winning score.
This was also our first poor bowling performance of the season, but we still have faith in all our bowlers!
We will kick on next weekend with 2 victories in the league at home!
