Big Hitting Cricket Spectacular comes to Birch Hall

This Sunday, DCC is very proud to host the Northern Premier League T20 Finals Day. We won the right to host this event after overcoming Leyland and Chorley in the regional group and look forward to welcoming a large crowd to the Home of Cricket. Last year, we lost in the final at Netherfield, so hope we can go one better on our home turf in 2014.

There are three games of cricket and it is FREE entry. With Music, BBQ, Bar and Drinks Promotions running all day, it is sure to be a great spectacle for all the family to enjoy.

Given the timings, planning has been a challenge and we need as many volunteers as possible. If you are willing to spare some time on Sunday or beforehand, please contact Graham Ainslie.

Agenda for the day is as follows:

08.00 Club volunteers arrive for assignment of duties and preparation of ground
09.30 Players arrive for first Semi Final
10.00 Gate opens
11.00 Semi Final 1 – Towers vs Blackpool
14.00 Semi Final 2 – Netherfield vs Lancaster
17.00 FINAL
20.00 Presentation

To cover costs of hosting the event, we kindly ask all visitors to enter the raffle. If you would like to donate a prize, please contact us here.

To help us run the event as smoothly as possible, we would politely request that members limit the number of cars used to travel to the ground. We have limited space around the ground and need to accommodate guests and players from three other clubs plus league officials, umpires and the disabled.

We will be releasing further news during the week as plans are confirmed.

All help and support from members, players, juniors and parents would be much appreciated and I look forward to seeing you there on Sunday.
